Founded in 2019 by Wallace Joiner and SJ Smith, the Clothes Cult is a sustainability focused clothing, accessories, and occasional home goods retailer who specializes in items from the 1950s to modern day. We are passionate about body positivity, feeling amazing wherever we go in whatever we wear, great quality and design, and affordability. We believe in shopping for vintage and preloved garments before setting foot into the big box retailers. Why? It offers us an opportunity to think for ourselves to define how we’d like to look, avoiding fast fashion and marketing trends in favor of garments that we truly like. Forget about keeping up with others—it’s time to find your own sense of style and try to keep up with that! 

We can hear some of you now—modern clothes? Pish posh! I’m a vintage enthusiast. Here’s the thing, y’all. Vintage is our passion, and we all know that not every day requires dressing for a photo shoot. Some days require work that is truly not appropriate for your one-of-a-kind vintage garments. We need our lounging at the house, running to the store for a quick trip, everyday clothing, too, and much of that hasn’t survived from vintage eras. So, we offer select items from the modern era to get you through the chores and day-to-day stuff too.
